Strangers From Hell

Poster of Strangers from Hell

Another Korean television show that I enjoy and have rewatched three times is Strangers from Hell. Strangers from Hell is a story about an aspiring crime fiction writer who moves to the city of Seoul to make a living. Because of how much he struggles financially, he is forced to move into a cheap and tiny communal residence named Eden Studio, where he has to face all of the creepiest and weirdest human beings imaginable. He ultimately breaks down and comes to a convergent point as a result of the stress he is under at work and the unpleasant atmosphere he is forced to live in on a daily basis. There are so many aspects of the program that I adore, and the following are just a few of them: With the frightening atmosphere created by the dark and narrow resident corridor, the creepy background music that would play at the appropriate time and place, and the exceptional performance by the actors, the drama was a success. This psychological thriller does an excellent job of making you feel uneasy; it isn't really frightening, but it does send shivers down your spine. The narrative forces the viewer to reflect on our society and how we are influenced by one another as humans, which can get really dark sometimes. Finally, genuine horror is never caused by ghosts or monsters; rather, it is caused by societal pressure and one's fellow peers acting against one another.
